Head of Marketing

Backed by Australia’s largest VCs, Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC) is a fast-growing, seed-stage organization with thousands of loyal customers across twenty countries. Founded in 2018 by brothers Shane and Tim Brunette, CTC is on a mission to help people around the world understand their tax obligations better with simple, easy-to-use tools to help identify, track and organize their crypto.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Marketing will strategically lead and execute an international growth marketing plan to support the increased needs across international markets. Based in Sydney, CTC celebrates a ‘remote-first’ async culture where flexibility is encouraged, autonomy is celebrated, and cross-team collaboration is highly valued.

CTC is looking for a Head of Marketing to own the strategic direction of the global marketing plan. As a strategic advisor to the CEO, this candidate will own the end-to-end marketing strategy and help lead the brand into the next phase of global strategic growth.

The right candidate will be a strong technical marketer, with an appreciation for brand, messaging and creative. They will have a proven track record in optimizing funnels with trigger workflows, and be comfortable implementing the right technologies to maximize our growth engine.

The Head of Marketing will:

  • Create CTC’s brand voice, positioning, and GTM product messaging for local markets
  • Devise a hyper-localized growth funnel and marketing plan that includes key channel activations: SEO, Paid performance (Google/Meta), email and social media
  • Manage the overall marketing budget
  • Optimize our web experience based on the needs of customers to improve conversion rates
  • Own the competitor analysis to understand the brand’s USP and opportunities across regions
  • Be the voice of the customer and ensure feedback loops are in place
  • Derive insights and actions based on market insights and product feedback. Lead cross-team collaboration based on these insights to drive strategic planning and product decision-making
  • Represent marketing in all Leadership Team meetings, presenting key metrics and performance results against the growth strategy
  • Establish an external marketing communication plan, creating and publishing content for new and existing customers to lead them through the funnel
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to support growth plan and marketing optimisations. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate

What we look for in you:

  • 10+ years experience in a growth-related marketing role
  • Tertiary qualified in relevant field
  • Proven marketing experience in SaaS or crypto
  • Led a hypothesis-driven framework for evaluating channel execution, leaning on data to make informed decisions that reach ROI targets
  • Track record of revenue growth, customer growth and customer retention
  • Strategic problem solver with proven results building and executing on marketing strategy
  • Strategic problem solver, and have validated results building and executing on marketing strategy
  • Experience developing strategy and running campaigns internationally
  • Power user of Google Ads, analytics platforms, and a/b testing frameworks
  • Sophisticated understanding of customer discovery techniques
  • Expertise in product-led and growth marketing techniques
  • Understanding of crypto market trends, needs, and behaviors
  • Familiarity with consumer software, freemium-style funnels
  • Demonstrated experience in performance marketing
  • Experience in social media, affiliate, and referral marketing
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic and creative mindset
  • Working in a startup and remote-first environment
