Preparing Your Crypto.com Taxes
Introduction
As the first step in your crypto tax process, you will need to upload all your transactions to Crypto Tax Calculator. For crypto.com there are two ways to do so, through an API upload or through a CSV history file upload. Either will work and allow Crypto Tax Calculator to calculate your crypto taxes and specifically your crypto.com tax obligation.
Using An API
The easiest way to transfer data is to generate an API key and share the details with Crypto Tax Calculator.
On crypto.com:
- Login to your Crypto.com exchange account
- Go to Settings > API Keys > Create new API key
- Enter Crypto Tax Calculator in the label and your 2FA code
- Click on Create API, set IP restriction to Unrestricted.
On Crypto Tax Calculator:
- Once logged in navigate to the Import page and select crypto.com from the dropdown menu
- Paste in your API key, secret key, and passphrase used to create the API
- The process might take a few minutes but in the meantime, you can upload data from your other exchange accounts and wallets
Using a CSV upload
The alternative to using an API is downloading your transaction data from crypto.com and uploading the files to Crypto Tax Calculator.
On crypto.com:
- Open your Crypto.com app and go to the Accounts tab
- Click on the Transaction history button in the top-right corner
- Click on the EXPORT button in the top-right corner
- Select Crypto wallet under the Transaction drop down
- Select a Start date that includes all your transactions
- Select End date as today
On Crypto Tax Calculator:
- Once logged in navigate to the import page
- Select crypto.com from the dropdown menu
- Click the import button and upload all the files you have downloaded from crypto.com
Wrapping Up
Once you have uploaded all your crypto data Crypto Tax Calculator can calculate your portfolio breakdown and crypto tax obligation. If for some reason you can’t upload your transactions you can add them individually on the review transactions page.
