Preparing Your Independent Reserve Taxes

Crypto Tax Calculator supports two main options for uploading data from Independent Reserve so you can calculate your Independent Reserve taxes. Independent Reserve has an easy to use API that allows you to automatically upload your trading data. They also offer CSV history downloads allowing you to upload the files manually.

Import via CSV

Log in to your Independent Reserve account

Order History:

1. In the top navbar, navigate to 'trade' section (https://app.independentreserve.com/trade)
2. Scroll down to Order History
3. Make sure the 'All' dropdown is selected for both the instrument and currency
4. Click on the and click on the 'Download Order History' icon button (to the right of the 'Order History' title)
5. In the popup, select the date range which covers your complete order history for the account, or leave it blank to download your entire history
6. Select the 'Download order history as CSV file' option, and then click 'Download' to download your order history CSV
7. Upload this 'OrderStatement' CSV file here into Crypto Tax Calculator

Deposits/Withdrawals:

1. In the top navbar, navigate to 'accounts' section (https://app.independentreserve.com/accounts)
2. Click on the 'Transaction History' tab
3. For each of your accounts (each currency), choose the relevant account in the dropdown and the click on the 'Download Transaction History' icon button
4. In the popup, select the date range which covers your complete transaction history for the account, or leave it blank to download your entire history
5. Select the 'Download transaction history as CSV file' option, and then click 'download' to download your transaction history CSV
6. Repeat the above steps for each of the accounts you have transaction history records
7. Upload the generated 'TransactionHistory' CSV(s) here into Crypto Tax Calculator

We will not pull in your 'Trades' from the 'TransactionHistory' CSV file but instead from the 'OrderStatement' CSV file as this is more accurate.

Create and add API keys

1. Log in to your Independent Reserve account
2. In the top navbar, navigate to 'settings' section (https://app.independentreserve.com/settings)
3. Click on the 'API Keys' tab
4. Click on the ‘generate’ button to create a new key
5. Select the 'Read-only (recommended)' option, and add the API Key Description as 'Crypto Tax Calculator'
6. Enter your password and click on the 'save' button
7. Copy the 'API Key' and 'API Secret' here into Crypto Tax Calculator
