Preparing Your Independent Reserve Taxes

Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC) supports two ways to import your trading data from Independent Reserve:

1. Automatic connection – Instantly sync your trading history via API (Recommended).

2. Manual CSV upload – Download and upload transaction history files.

1. Import via API (Recommended for seamless syncing)

The easiest way to import your trading data is by connecting your Independent Reserve account via API Automatic connection (recommended).

1. Log in to your Independent Reserve account.

2. In the top menu, go to Transactions → Tax.

3. Click the “Get started with Crypto Tax Calculator” button.

4. You’ll be redirected to Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC), where your account will be automatically linked for seamless integration.

Manual API key setup (if needed):

1. Log in to your Independent Reserve account.

2. Click on your profile name in the top right corner, then select Settings.

3. In the Settings page, go to the API keys tab.

4. Click on “Generate API key” to create a new API key.

5. Select “Read-only (recommended)” option and add the API Key description as “Crypto Tax Calculator”.

6. Enter your password and click “Generate”.

7. Copy the API key and API secret and paste them into Crypto Tax Calculator under Accounts → Independent Reserve.

8. Click “Secure Connect” to complete the setup.

2. Import via CSV (Manual option)

If you prefer to upload your trading data manually, you can download your transaction history from Independent Reserve and upload it to Crypto Tax Calculator.

How to download and upload your transaction history:

1. Log in to your Independent Reserve account Order History:

2. In the top menu, go to Trade page.

3. Scroll down to Order history section.

4. Make sure the ‘All’ dropdown is selected for both coins and fiat.

5. Click the “Action” button (top-right corner) and select “Download order history”.

6. In the popup, select the date range covering your complete trading history.

7. Choose ‘Download order history as CSV’ and click “Download”.

8. Upload this ‘OrderStatement’ CSV file into Crypto Tax Calculator.

Deposits/Withdrawals:

1. In the top menu, go to the Transactions page

2. Click on ‘Transaction history’.

3. Select the relevant Account/Currency from the dropdown.

4. Click on the ‘Download’ icon next to “Transaction history” (top of the table).

5. Select the date range for your complete deposit/withdrawal history.

6. Choose ‘Download transaction history as CSV’ and click “Download”.

7. Repeat for each account you have transaction records for.

8. Upload the ‘TransactionHistory’ CSV(s) into Crypto Tax Calculator.

Trades will be imported from the ‘OrderStatement’ CSV file instead of the ‘TransactionHistory’ CSV file, as it provides more accurate trade data.
